Last Monday (March 12, 2018) Maurizio Napolitano, coordinator of the Digital Commons Lab
of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, has been at the GEM Foundation (Global Earthquake Model)
in Pavia for a presentation titling "A dive into OpenStreetMap". Here are the abstract, the slides, the video, and some pictures.
OpenStreetMap is a collaborative project for the collection of open georeferenced data. The first output of OpenStreetMap is the map found on the http://openstreetmap.org
website But the project offers much more. The workshop therefore wants to present itself as a "dip in openstreetmap" going over the map showing how, in reality, it is a large laboratory able to help policy makers, researchers, developers, civic hackers ... and much more. The workshop will focus on the technical, social and legal themes of the project.
